If you are big into analytics, NBA teams and college programs track three point metrics more than any other stat. What makes someone a great shooter? There are several factors: footwork, quick release, spot up ability, ability to hit shots off screens and on the move, and consistency.
Tommy Murr (Lindsey Lane): The 2020 star can knock down threes in bunches. Murr has a smooth stroke, a consistent release point, and the confidence to take a shot from anywhere on the court.
JC Norris (Huntsville): The senior guard is the best marksman for Huntsville. Norris has really good footwork which allows him to be deadly anytime he catches the ball.
Connor Smith (Lauderdale Co): You can’t help off Smith. Connor has a really pure shot, and drains shots effortlessly. Smith also has a quick release.
Titus Griffin (Covenant Christian): Griffin has a picture perfect form. Titus is deadly off the move or when spotting up. Griffin has a very consistent release point on every shot.
Wren Cole (Danville): Cole is one of the better spot up shooters in the state. Defenders can’t leave him open. The junior also has underrated footwork into his shot.
Jadan Coleman (Bob Jones): Jadan is another guy who can make threes in bunches. He has really good footwork and a very consistent release point.
Brody Peebles (Hartselle): The 2021 stud is one of the best in his class. Peebles has a quick release and quick footwork into every jumper he takes. He is very dangerous off the bounce and in transition.
Justin Webb (Hamilton): Webb is very consistent. He shoots the same shot every time. He is shooting over 40% from three.
Austin Laatsch (Spain Park): Austin is the type of shooter that can spot up or have his number called when a three point bucket is needed. Laatsch has good footwork and great shot mechanics.
Hayden Lamey (Briarwood): Lamey can knock down shots in bunches. He has solid mechanics, good footwork, and can have his number called out of a set.
Ja’Juan Hayes (Enterprise): Hayes has a consistent release, good spot up ability, and quick feet. The senior wing would be a solid 3 and D player on a team’s roster.
