Continue ReadingNow that we are about halfway through the season, I thought it would be appropriate to take a look at the current rankings and see how things have changed since the first rankings. We will take a look at the top 10 6A rankings and discuss those top teams, while also predicting how the season will play out.

Staying Solid
I don’t think it is to anyone’s surprise that Pinnacle and Chaparral have remained in their current spots. Both teams have added wins to their resume and are still both playing at an extremely high level. Look for these two teams to stay within the Top 3 all season long.
New to the List
As I predicted in my last article discussing the AIA rankings, Cesar Chavez has burst into the Top 10. They are now sitting at #9 and I do not think they are done yet. Due to the outstanding skill of Ty Ty Washington, I think this team has a much higher ceiling than the #9 spot. Look for Cesar Chavez to continue rising in the AIA Rankings.
Steady Progress
I know Mountain Pointe is a lot better of a team than what they have showed so far this season and what the rankings reflect thus far. However, they did improve their ranking so that is a step in the right direction. I know this team has the talent to compete for state and they should be sitting within the Top 5 very soon. Look for Mountain Pointe to have a big second half of the season and compete for the state title.
