This will be a post that happens every Monday this season to tune you into the things you need to keep an eye out for. These are the things you should keep an eye on for the week of December 2nd – December 5th.
3 Teams
Linton-Stockton
After a good showing in the Wabash Valley Classic until the final game, Linton-Stockton will look to get back on track this week and win the Greene County Invitational. Linton has dominated this tournament in recent years and a good bounce back performance in this tournament will do a lot for their confidence.
Monrovia
After starting the season 10-0, Monrovia hasn’t received much love in the polls. That is due to their extremely weak schedule. With arguably their two toughest tests ahead this week against Ritter and Beech Grove, they can silence the naysayers with two wins on the road.
Kokomo
After a very slow start to the year, it seems that Kokomo is starting to play a little bit better as they have won three of their last four games. This week they have Logansport on the schedule. Logansport is 9-1 on the year with their only loss coming last Friday against Laporte. This will be a good measuring stick game for Kokomo.
3 Games
HSE vs. Warren Central
Warren Central is coming off of a Hall of Fame Classic title and get right back into action with a tough game against HSE. Both of these teams are solid this year, with Warren Central having not lost a game over the past two years. If HSE comes out on top in this one, they will see a big bump in the rankings but if Warren Central takes the win they will continue to hold that top spot.
Barr-Reeve vs. Forest Park
Barr-Reeve is coming off of a loss in the Graber Post Buildings Classic to top ranked FW Blackhawk, but they are still one of the top teams in 1A this season. Forest Park is not a slouch despite their record, they have some very good wins on the schedule this season. A win for either of these teams will be a notable one on the schedule.
Zionsville vs. Brebeuf
Coming off of a good week with a runner up finish at the Bob Wettig tournament, Zionsville is looking to go into Brebuef and beat a really good Brebeuf team. Brebuef, on the other hand, is looking to take this win to legitimize their record. This will be a very good game against two very competitive teams this season.
3 Players
Wyatt Felling
Felling is one of the top scorers in the state and this week he will be playing two games in the Shelby County tournament. Felling is going to have to have another big week this week if he wants to go out a county champion. Felling can score at all three levels and he will be able to display that this week.
Cam Alford
If Alford wants to make his name known throughout the state, this is the week to do it. The Hendricks County tournament will allow him to showcase his talents against other county teams. Alford should be able to do whatever he wants to against these teams. If he does, Brownsburg should be smooth sailing to the crown.
Sam Comer
Comer is in the same boat as Alford. Coming into the season, Danville was thought to be a viable contender for the state title but a few losses and bumps in the road have led to those dreams faltering a bit. Comer is a big part of the success for Danville and if they want to pull it out in this tournament, Comer is going to have to lead them there.
