The Bruins would eventually prevail 95-89 and improved to (6-2) and (10-9) overall. The Sharks were playing in front of the home crowd on Senior Night and dropped to (1-7) and (6-16) overall.
MVP : Justice Jackson (2020) – South Florence HS (pictured on front)
Jackson took over after halftime for the Bruins. Jackson was saddles with 3 fouls and limited playing time in the first half. Jackson would finish the game with 28 points for the Bruins in the victory.
Best Player in the Post : Michael Mason (2019) – South Florence HS
Mason 6’5 was too much to handle for the smaller Sharks in the paint. Mason a wide bodied post player will play football next season at Wofford. Mason carved out space in the paint all evening long and finished with 10 points in the win.
Super Sophomore : Jeremiah Nesbitt (2021) – St James HS (Murrells Inlet)
Nesbitt came out firing for the Sharks on Senior Night. Nesbitt finished with 22 points while connecting on 6 three pointers. Nesbitt a off guard kept the Bruins on their toes all evening long while keeping the Sharks in the game.
Best Player under 6’0 : Korique Rainey (2019) – South Florence HS
Rainey plays a lot of point guard for the Bruins but seems to be more comfortable while playing off the ball. Raney finished the evening with 25 points in the win. Raney on two different occasions this evening was fouled on three pointers and converted 5-6 free throws in overtime.
Lefty Crew : Candido Ortiz Robles (2020) and Randy Smith (2020) – St James HS (Murrells Inlet)
Ortiz-Robles a left-handed guard plays a old school style game you would find at the local YMCA game. Ortiz-Robles uses the set shot to knock down shots while being crafty with the ball. Ortiz-Robles finished with 13 points tonight.
Smith nicknamed “Sunshine” hit some timely shots for the Sharks to keep them in the game. Smith a tough minded kid really can defend on the ball. Smith finished with 11 points in the loss.
