West Henderson HS would prevail 87-76 for the final.
Ben Bryson is Special
Bryson scored 31 points on the night to go along with 10 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds. He is a natural point guard that can let it fly from anywhere on the floor. He knows when to want the ball and knows how to score it against the best any defense can give. He has an offer from Tennessee Tech.
Big Game from Kyle Porter
When Bryson needed some help on the offensive end, it was Kyle Porter who hauled in a solid game with 22 points. The 6-foot-3, 200lb senior came up with big play after big play to help West Henderson HS stay in striking range.
West Henderson Handles Beeker
Ben Beeker, Hendersonville’s 6’9 senior big man was held to 7 rebounds and 6 assists on the night. He is averaging close to 23 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. This was a solid defensive effort from West Henderson HS to slow down the thoroughbred for Hendersonville.
Beeker is scheduled to visit Furman and UNC-Wilmington this week.
West Henderson Win Shakes up Standings
With the loss, Hendersonville will fall to 13-2 on the season. The Bearcats were ranked #4 in the NCPreps NCHSAA 1-A rankings but may fall out after the loss to West Henderson HS.
Huge Game From Bryson
After sending the game to OT, Bryson controlled the tempo of the game and set up his teammates to get easy baskets and got his own when he needed. He is a high level basketball IQ player that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. West Henderson HS’s best chances at winning is when the ball is in his hands.
