Overview:
If there is a position in the 2022 class that is going to blow up Nationally, it might end up being our group of small forwards. There is talent and depth here and a ton of guys to pay attention to. That also means, there is going to be a lot of movement as guys develop at different rates and mature. Things will be interesting to watch, that much is for sure. In this set of rankings, we can see the top being a little tighter than it was before with Reggie Bass, Will Loving–Watts, and Tayven Jackson. Tayven has probably produced the best of the bunch this high school season so far but Bass is right there with him. However, the upside of Loving-Watts and the fact that he is producing decently is making him the most intriguing player in the class.
In the next group, Andrew Leeper, Antonio Lisenbee Jr., Peter Suder, and Billy Smith is another fun group. All of which should probably see DI programs taking a look sooner rather than later. They all have size and upside with Lisenbee having probably the most right now. Smith, Suder, and Leeper are quite a bit more skilled and Suder has probably been the most important and productive player at the high school level this year.
Even down the list, there are guys like Hayden Cutter who has been solid and a really good scorer for Scottsburg, Jaylen Lattimore who has found minutes for Snider, and Rasheed Jones is a guy we hadn’t heard of until we watched him shoot the lights out of the ball against Valparaiso. There is so much depth and this is the place to look for high risers coming in the years until they graduate.
New Additions:
As far as new faces this time around, we have eight new guys to look at with one of the top players being Rasheed Jones from Marion. The 6’3 wing is a player who can really shoot the ball and has good size on the perimeter. Doesn’t have the overpowering ball handling yet but is good enough that he should begin to transition to creation into pull-ups pretty quickly. He’s got the body you want at 6’3 with length and he looks like he could grow quite a bit still. We also introduce Julian Norris, Clark Barrett, Matt Spears, Grant Ott-Large, Evan Kretz, Christian Nunn, and Caden Harker.
Stock Risers:
In this set of Stock Risers, we actually don’t have any players that moved up at all. All stayed or moved back. This happens as we start out in a class and add more and more players. Typically, this only happens through the first half year. You know who the top guys are by the end of the year and you don’t have so many new players at such a high level each time.
