2019 Oklahoma Classic Showcase: Roundup
Here is a roundup of the Oklahoma Classic Showcase at Midwest City High School from Saturday, Jan. 19. Final scores, stats, and stories will be posted here and updated throughout the day:
Northwest Classen 66, Carl Albert 55
Northwest Classen picked up a 66-55 win against Carl Albert in the first game of the day. The 5A foes engaged in what appeared to be a low-scoring match at first, before the Knights took off on a 22-point third quarter effort to take a 19-point lead. The Titans, however, stormed back to scare the Knights, but Classen held on to secure the win. Davion Warden led the Knights with 17 points; teammate Da’Lin Wiggins trailed with 14. James Locke led Carl Albert with 15.
Putnam City West 77, Kingston 58
3A Kingston got out to what looked to be a hot start but was ultimately slowed down and bested by the 6A Patriots. Rondel Walker got on a hot streak near the end of the first half and didn’t stop until the final whistle. The Redskins’ Jacob Germany led all scorers with 30. walker led the Patriots with 28.
Tulsa Memorial 76, Midwest City 66.
Tulsa Memorial got out to a lead early, and while the Bombers stayed at their hip most of the night, the Chargers maintained that lead to take the win and come up with a big 6A victory. Kalib Boone led the way for Memorial with 26 points and was trailed by Kavon Key with 20 and Keylan Boone with 16. Kevin Overton led the Bombers with 21. Makale Smith had 16 to add into the mix.
