12/31-1/6 Player(s) Of The Week Poll
Micah McAllister (Landmark Christian)- Averaged 34.5 PPG in two wins over Our Lady of Mercy and Lovett this past week. Against OLM, McAllister put up 39 points on 53% shooting with 7 made 3’s. He followed it up with 30 points on 58% shooting and 5 made 3’s.
Brandon Barron (Alpharetta)- The Raiders had a close loss to Chattahoochee this past Saturday, but Barron went off for 46 points. The NC A&T signee scored the 46 in an efficient manner, going 18 for 25 from the field. He continues to carry Alpharetta this season; they are improving as we get deep into region play.
Connor Thompson (Heritage)- The junior guard poured in 42 points this past Friday in a blowout win over Calvary Christian. Thompson accounted for half of the team’s scoring with those 42 points, hitting 8 3’s along the way.
Luke Chism & Jasper Gibson (Dawson County)- It would be hard to include one without the other, and I didn’t want to pin teammates against each other in the voting, so Chism and Gibson are one option together. The Tigers won both of their games last week over Cherokee Bluff and Pickens. Chism averaged 25.5 PPG, 10 RPG, 6.5 APG, 5 SPG, and 3 BPG. Gibson had averages of 26.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 5 APG, 4 SPG.
Cam Sheffield (Chattahoochee)- The Cougars picked up 2 important region wins over Cambridge and Alpharetta last week thanks in large part to the play of Sheffield. He scored 26 points in both of the games and impacted the game in other areas as well. He is having a very strong junior campaign.
