It’s time to revisit the Wichita City League projections that we explored in late November and see how things shook out.
Overall, with the exception of a couple of games, the chips are falling where we expected but second semester is where things can get really wild.
Heights is still the team to beat with Izaiah Hale, Jaden Okon, and Jaxon Pillich are all three able to put points on the board, be a factor in rebounding, and share the ball effectively. All three are solid college prospects that know what it takes to win and will be ready to play.
Southeast has proved that their upperclassman talent and young talent can gel well enough to go undefeated in the first chunk of the season.
No surprise that Jackie Johnson III is playing so well but the emergence of sophomore Rone Smith is certainly helping fill the void of losing both Shawn Warrior and Israel Barnes.
East may be a surprise to some and their fast start isn’t anchored by one guy. While Daylan Jones is certainly the highest ranked player on the team, Norman Massey, Amos Alford Jr, Jaylen Randle, and James King have all been big parts to the Aces strong start.
