Later on in the game he came up with some clutch buckets and assist to help his team, when he’s knocking down the trey, he is a very tough matchup. Plenty of upside in this youngster and he is one to keep a close eye on over the end of the season and summer.
Whiteville HS 2019 Guard Tyjuan Anderson: After seeing him in a preseason event where he scored the ball at a very high rate, we weren’t shocked to see him doing some of the same in this matchup. He seemed to have some type of hand injury going on but he still had some offensive spurts where he scored the ball which only helped his team.
West Brunswick HS 2020 Guard Deandre Clarida: Stepped up and knock down some trey balls in the first half but had some plays in the paint in the second half. He’s a spark plug type of guy, plays the game with a lot of energy and effort, doesn’t back down from challenges.
Whiteville HS 2021 Guard Wendell Smith: We like what we saw from him, he shows some flashes of how good he can be. Although he still has some moments where his youth showed, he was solid overall and showed some nice poise down the stretch off the game. One play in particular that was impressive was when he drove hard baseline, hit his defender with a smooth spin and finished all in one motion.
Whiteville HS 2019 F/C Cam Richardson: An absolute beast inside the paint, you can tell that he spends his fair share of time on the football field. Does a nice job of finishing inside the paint offensively as well as contesting and blocking shots on the defensive end.
West Brunswick HS 2019 Guard Alex Younts: Had a solid showing throughout, his ability to knock down shots from deep as well as get into the paint to make plays are things that you have to like. He plays the game with high energy and it showed as you could see him: diving for loose balls, playing passing lanes for steal, etc.
