The teams would go back and forth but Village would take over in the 2nd half and not look back, getting the 85-65 win.
NLCA 2020 Guard Phil Martin: Was the best shooter on the floor, he caught fire early and kept it going throughout the night. Finished with 24 points to lead all scorers with 21 of those points coming from three point shots. CIAA and other D2 programs should be keeping a close eye on Martin throughout this season and during the summer.
Village Christian 2020 Guard Zavian McLean: VMI dropped in to see him play and he did not disappoint, he would go on to lead his team in scoring with 21 points and was efficient with his play. The intensity he brings is something that you have to like and he has an overall high skillset, D1 programs have been showing interest.
NLCA 2020 Guard Dahaun Jones: As the season has gone on, we have seen his role and minutes increase in a major way. He is one of the fastest players end to end on the court and is automatic from midrange, it looks as if he is extending his range as well to become a more efficient three point shooter.
NLCA 2020 Guard Reggie Walton: Every time he steps on the floor, you know you are going to get maximum effort from him. He plays the game with intensity and does a solid job of staying aggressive, finished with 14 points on the night.
Village Christian 2019 Guard Travion McCray: Solid performance throughout the day, last time we saw him play he struggled from the field shooting wise but that seems to be a thing of the past. He knocked down shots, attacked the basket and threw down some highlight dunks.
Village Christian 2019 F/C Derrick Quansah: It’s impressive to see how far he has come over the past few years, and the scary thing is he is just getting started. Finishing inside and blocking shots are all things that he does well, ODU has offered and more D1 programs should be on him.
