Twenty Intriguing Results
The first Friday of December included more than a few interesting basketball scores and wins. Take a wider, broadened scope of our state and peruse the impact of each intriguing result.
- Riverdale 55, East Hamilton 53 Warriors followed the scoring lead of Deron Perry.
- Tennessee 53, Elizabethton 49
- Tyner Academy 69, CSAS 52. Certainly one of the toughest Class AA programs in the state, Tyner Academy enters next week still unbeaten.
- Knoxville Catholic 61, Knoxville West 51. Classic battle between two strong teams. West lost their first game of the year in this tussle.
- Red Boiling Springs 57, Monterey 56. Ten wins now for Dalton and the Fighting Marshes!
- Oak Ridge 79, Bolton 77 Oak Ridge senior guard Marcus Smith was evaluated by Tennessee Wesleyan during this game.
- Marshall County (KY) 59, Christian Brothers 40 Christian Brothers was one of our Ten Great November Teams. This loss won’t hurt their standing within Tennessee.
- CPA 84, Ezell-Harding 41
- Ripley 57, Brighton 54. Brighton took a painful loss to an athletic Ripley squad. Both are tough opponents. Impressive win for the purple-clad unit.
- Jackson South Side 56, Liberty 44 Deep team hoping to return to state tournament.
- Independence 67, Nolensville 66 . Stunner! Independence is structured and feisty.
- Forrest 61, Summertown 55. Unacceptable loss for accomplished SHS team.
- Fairview 77, Camden 51 . Both teams entered with 5+ wins. Fairview gave CHS loss #2 behind 44 D.J. Estes points.
- McGavock beat Antioch to improve to 9-1 on the season.
- Bolivar Central 91, Chester County 81 .
- East Nashville 61, East Hamilton 53 . Pearl Cohn is rumored to be quite a bit better this season, but the entirely new East team got this one.
- Siegel 50, Blackman 49. Two Murfreesboro powers battled and Siegel took down the mighty Blaze for the first time in nearly three years.
- Jackson Christian 50, FACS 47 . FACS is a really good team, a team that narrowly slipped by Sacred Heart Tuesday.
- York Institute 76, Upperman 67 Already three losses for Upperman. Tough schedule so far?
- Loudon 75, Polk County 60 . Through nine games Loudon still has not lost a game.
