Point Guard play is very important for a team to be competitive. I’ve watched a bunch of talented playmakers this year but these five are the Top facilitators I’ve seen so far.
Rubin Jones / 6’4” / Guard / Yates / 2020
Jones is a long facilitator that plays the game with good pace at the lead guard spot. He is very versatile and can the 1-3 on the offensive end depending on who’s on the floor alongside him and where his coach needs him to be. He is a smooth playmaker that throws pin point passes to his teammates.
Savhir Wheeler / 5’8” / PG / Houston Christian / 2019
The Speedy Texas A&M floor general is always under control and knows when to deliver passes to others. Wheeler is fun to watch with the ball in his hands because he knows how to break others down off the dribble and create plays.
Sam Martin / 6’0” / PG/ Burleson / 2019
Martin has a lot of swagger at the point guard position. The dual sport athlete has shown the ability to find players on the court with wizard like no look passes. Martin has to work on making more simple plays at times but has shown that he is one of the best available point guards left in 2019.
Davian Sanders / 5’10” / PG / Wilmer Hutchins / 2019
Sanders has the ball on a string and is very low centered and fast with the rock in his hands. He doesn’t need to score the ball to make things happen for team. Sanders point guard play is one of the key reasons why Wilmer-Hutchins is doing so well thus far.
Brandon Lawrence / 6’1” / PG / Grace Prep / 2020
Lawrence has good size for position and doesn’t play around with the ball in his hands. Lawrence makes quick decisions and strong passes to teammates on the perimeter or inside near the basket.
