1: Sapulpa @ Booker T. Washington
The matchup we have all been waiting for goes down tonight. Sapulpa led by Julian Smith and their new addition Camryn Dennis will take the floor tonight on the road at Booker T. Washington. Lights. Camera. Action. This game is going to be loaded with highlights. Booker T. Washington comes in as the higher ranked team, but Sapulpa will have their chance to wake up the people who are asleep on their talents. We should get some fun matchups between Smith and Dennis against Trey Phipps and Bryce Thompson. Expect the two guard duos to dominate the headlines of this one. The team that wins the game tonight will be the one who gets an extra boost from a role player.
2: Del City @ Midwest City
This is one of the best rivalries in Oklahoma high school hoops. The unique feel of having the game during school hours packs the house with students adding to the atmosphere. JD Ray is quietly having a phenomenal start to his senior campaign at Midwest City. Nate Goodlow will get his crack at Ray and the Bombers. The matchup features two undersized squads with lots of Guard talent on the floor. Keep a close eye on Del City young Wing, Keyondre Young. This should be another good early indication to see where both teams are at in their respective classes.
3: Heritage Hall @ Ada
Last year this game was never close. However, Heritage Hall has to head on the road for this one. Ada always has some talent on the hardwood. Moving up to 5A will be a huge adjustment come playoff time for Ada, but one they can thrive in if they take care of business in the regular season to set themselves up for a good seed. Heritage Hall has not missed a step this year behind the talents of Trey Alexander and William McDonald. The two talented Wings are super tough to slow down. Alexander has taken the next step in his game playing better each game out on the floor.
4: Crossing Christian @ Millwood
Millwood is the clear favorite in this game on paper. The Falcons will be tested by a young talented Crossing Christian squad. Reid Lovelace is a young name to know for Crossing Christian. Millwood has been led this year by Cameron Bell and company. Bell versus Lovelace will be a fun matchup to take in.
5: Anadarko @ Elgin
Elgin enters this season with a lot to prove. They can start to really turn heads tonight with a statement game against top ten ranked Anadarko. Connor Slater has a terrific summer and is hoping to take the next step in his game at Elgin this winter. Anadarko always seems to have talent. Could Anadarko be a team that sneaks up and surprises people this year? We will know a lot more about both squads after this matchup tonight.
Bonus: Edmond Santa Fe @ Edmond North
Edlam has produced classic games over the years. This one just missed the top five cut but will be one to have on the radar tonight. Edmond North is in the process of rebuilding after winning a state title two years ago. Landry Harris, Elijah Mason, Dalante Shannon, and company look to capture a signature win against an experienced Edmond Santa Fe team. Ben Smith, Donovan Vickers, and Jaylen O’Conner might have something to say about that.
