With that being said we take a moment to look at some of the top 15 assist men in the state for the first two months of the high school season.
Coming in at #1 is Charlotte Christian Senior PG JC Tharrington who is averaging 9 Assist per game. Our first chance to see him play was back at the Hot 100 Camp when he was a middle schooler. He had the natural ability to be a floor general early on and has developed into a D1 caliber guard, his play has helped lead his team to a 10-1 record.
East Lincoln HS Senior Guard Ben Zirkle is at the #4 spot with just under 8 assist a night, and a team record of 5-0 this season. He doesn’t score the ball very much as he looks to get teammates involved, first, second and third before getting his own offense. At #6 may be a surprise for some but Walkertown HS Guard Jalen Cone holds down the spot with 7.2 dimes per game. His first two seasons of varsity basketball was a showcase of how well he could score the ball, now he is showing that he can make plays for others as well.
Ashbrook Sophomore Guard Chris Britt comes in at #9 and has been putting up some big numbers. He’s averaging 7 dimes a night to go along with his 20 PPG, he’s another name in the absolutely loaded 2021 Class to keep an eye on. The #12 spot belongs to Lincoln Charter Senior Guard Jackson Gabriel, who is averaging just over 6 assist per game. Gabriel can fill a stat sheet up as he is averaging 21 points and 6 rebounds to go along with his 6 dimes a night. Finishing out the list at #15 is Scotland Christian Academy Guard Brodie Clark who is dishing out 6.3 Assist per night. He is one off the more underrated players in the state due to the size of the school that he plays at but he is a very talented youngster, averaging over 20 PPG as well.
