Brooks Allen of Shakopee. The top names of the Sabers are doing what has been expected but this is an ever deeper team than expected. Brooks Allen stands 6-foot-6 as a senior and has given his team some quality inside play so others can handle more forward/wing responsibility.
Jackson Aurelius of Coon Rapids. The Cards continue to take steps towards progress. Younger players with an improved level of skill and understanding of the game. Aurelius opened his year with 26 against Forest Lake and has followed that with more 20 plus point games. Jackson is a 6-foot-3 junior.
Ryan Bowlin of Holy Family. The Fire is another team that had high expectations for themselves but saw others didn’t think so. Ryan Bowlin is a six foot guard that exploded for 34 points in the Fire win over Brooklyn Center. He then had 15 defeated Watertown-Mayer and 19 as Holy Family took out Maranatha Christian. Bowlin has had a great start to his senior year.
Troy Kokkinen of West Lutheran. One of the better juniors in Class A hoops is Troy Kokkinen. At 6-foot-4 at the forward spot Troy has been consistent all year scoring, defending, and rebounding. His team is 4-1 and Troy has led the way.
Jacob Miller of Chanhassen. Don’t look now but the Storm, they are 4-0. With Regan Tollefson out, Chanhassen is still undefeated and Miller stepping forth with whatever is needed as a 5-foot-11 guard has been crucial.
Paris Johnson of St. Louis Park. The Orioles have road wins over Burnsville and Henry Sibley this year playing better than many expected. Paris Johnson is a 6-foot-4 sophomore wing who has been a huge surprise. Johnson is scoring 16 a night stepping into that top playmaker role and doing it well.
Lyric Radford of Minnetonka. The Skippers lost two of their best players to transfer, the rest to graduation. That left behind Cameron Steele, a much improved Gavin Patton, and guys like Lyric Radford. Lyric is a six-foot guard giving the undefeated Skippers a third double figure scoring option.
Jameson Sexton of Mound-Westonka. Wins over Blake and Orono, 3-1 on the year, the White Hawks are taking steps! Jameson Sexton was a top three scorer for Coach Andre Phillips last season and now the 6-foot-1 guard has had some big games as a junior scoring nearly 18 a contest.
Garrett Vaneyll of Rogers. People outside of Rogers had little for expectations for the team. What opponents are finding out is that Rogers is still a tough foe and Vaneyll has stepped forward. Garrett was a bench player last year who played a good role, now the 6-foot-3 shooter and hard working defender is leading his team in scoring.
