Drew Crippen / 6’4 / SG / Mansfield / 2021
Crippen is an intriguing young two Guard that has a nice shooting form. Crippen is also a solid ball handler that can utilize his dribble to blow by defenders for buckets at the rim.
Shannon Lowery / 6’4 / SF / Mansfield / 2021
Lowery is an alpha male with broad shoulders that loves to play physical on both ends of the floor. He is a tough slasher that goes to the rim with power and embraces contact when attacking the cup.
Andrew Iyamah / 6’6 / Forward / Mansfield / 2021
Iyamah has long arms and plays active on the inside which allows him to finish around the rim when he takes his time. He needs to work on securing the ball and catching dump off passes when his teammates penetrate. Iyamah also has good defensive instincts and bothers opponents when they try to score over him.
Southlake Carroll Players Step Up
Southlake really missed their starting Junior Guard Danny Sommerhalder who was sidelined due to injury. The Dragons lost to Mansfield by eleven 71-60, but they were in it for majority of the game. Seniors Brandon Haddock and Jonathan Zapinski played well in the loss. I was equally impressed with how Dylan Hatton and Bryson McDade played on both ends for their Southlake Carroll Team.
Dylan Hatton / 6’2 / SG / Southlake Carroll / 2019
Has a unique looking jumper but if given enough room he has a good chance of knocking it down. His shooting ability is very valuable for his Dragons team. Finished with 16 points vs. Mansfield.
Bryson McDade / 6’3” / SG / Southlake Carroll / 2020
McDade is the son of the Head Coach for Southlake and you can tell right away that he knows how to play the game just by his feel for the game. Bryson has good size for position but needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end and utilize his strong first step to finish more at the rim.
