The Holiday Classic: Top Guards
The Holiday Classic was hosted by Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, California. There were a lot of very talented teams in attendance. Here are the top guards from the tournament:
Noah Williams (O’Dea 2021):
I was very impressed by Williams. He has to be one of the shiftiest and quickest guards I have ever seen at the high school level. He also has great leaping ability that makes him dangerous going to the rim. He put people on his poster frequently and often.
Jaelen House (Shadow Mountain 2019):
House absolutely dominated. He came up with a ton of steals which led to a ton of easy and some times, highlight worthy finished. He is one of the biggest competitors I have ever seen at the high school level, playing with an unmatched fire and passion for the game of basketball.
Jovan Blacksher (Shadow Mountain 2019):
Jovan looked very good, making plays left and right. He may not have had a ton of points but he was making all of the right plays in order to get his teammates open looks and lead his team to a blow out win. Blacksher is extremely smart and has a great knowledge and feel for the game.
Darrius Kendall (Rocklin 2020):
Darrius was giving fits to Cienega. He simply could not be stopped. He is a little undersized but did most of his scoring in transition off of steals. He pressures the ball at a very high rate, resulting in a lot of steals and easy finished. He is also a very good shooter from deep. I really liked his overall game.
