Tea Uses Monster Third Quarter To Put Away Vermillion
Tea Area used a 13-2 run to open the game and never looked back leading by as many as 40 at one point to cruise to a 76-40 victory over Vermillion.
The Titans, on the eve of playing the No. 1 team in the nation, showed that they are the No. 1 team in Class A. Noah Freidel came out hot scoring eight first-quarter points.
Tea Area used a series of runs to defeat the Tanagers. They outscored Vermillion 22-10 in the second quarter.
The second half wasn’t any better for the Tanagers as Tea Area came out in a full-court pressure defense that accounted for nine steals, five alone from Mason Ritter, to go on a 19-2 run at one point in the third quarter.

TURNING POINT: It was already a 22 point game at halftime but if the Tanagers had any thought of coming out of the halftime break with a strong start that thought vanished as the Titans went on a 19-2 run in the third quarter to put the game away.
KEY PLAYS: The Titans defense was probably the best it’s been all year as they only gave up 40 points. They used a nasty full-court pressure to put the game away.
STAT OF THE GAME: Freidel, Justin Hohn and Kaleb Joffer (28 points) had more points at half than the whole Vermillion team (20).
TEAM LEADERS:
The Titans were led by Freidel with 17 points, Hohn with a double-double 16 points and 10 assists and Joffer with 13 points and 6 boards.
The Tanagers were led by Max Mayer with 10 points.
