“Big Men” Isaiah and Evan Mobley of Rancho Christian, as well as Makur Maker of Orange Lutheran and Onyeka Okongwu of Chino Hills will be on display in the event’s top “Platinum Division”, whose games tip off Wednesday in the Orleans Hotel Arena.
Six of that division’s first-round games will played there Wednesday, beginning with the 11 a.m. clash between Orange Lutheran and Little Rock (AR) Hall and concluding with the 8 p.m. hook-up between Chino Hills and Ft. Lauderdale (FL) Dillard.
The other two Platinum first-round meetings (Sacramento Sheldon vs. Ft. Lauderdale Northeast and Chicago Whitney Young vs. Buckeye of Arizona) don’t take place until Thursday, also in the Orleans Arena.
The second-, third- and fourth-round games in the division will all be contested at Bishop Gorman.
One non-Platinum game, the Nike contest between Lakewood Mayfair and Las Vegas Liberty, will be played in the Orleans Arena at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Each has one of the better prospects from the Class of 2020 – not just regionally but nationally, as well – in Josh Christopher (PICTURED) of Mayfair and Julian Strawther of Liberty.
Among the other noteworthy college prospects in the Platinum Division are juniors Noah Taitz and Isaiah Cottrell (Bishop Gorman), Jaden McDaniels (Federal Way of Washington) and the guard combination of sophomore Jaden Hardy and freshman Richard Isaacs Jr. of Henderson (NV) Coronado.
