Simeon loses a close one to J.J. Pearce at ARS National Hoopfest
Richardson J.J. Pearce Mustangs (53) – Simeon Career Academy Wolverines (52)
Simeon made the trip to Dallas from Chicago to face the Mustangs of Richardson J.J. Pearce. The Wolverines were not as talented as they have been in years past, but still played with the same amount of traditional toughness. However, it was not enough to defeat the Mustangs as they lost a close one 53-52.

There were a few players who stood out in the nailbiter:
Player Breakdown
Drew Timme / 6’10” / PF / Richardson J.J. Pearce / 2019
Drew Timme carried his team to the close victory with his all-around play. The future Bulldog is super skilled in nearly all areas of his game. He is one of the best passers the state has to offer and is a walking triple-double. Timme scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds, blocked six shots, and had a handful of assists. His efforts earned himself Game MVP honors.
Antonio Reeves / 6’4″ / SG / Simeon Career Academy / 2019
Reeves is a long & wiry off-ball guard with solid size for his position. He heated up in the final quarter knocking down multiple threes. The unsigned senior uses his length to his advantage on the defensive end. He was a primary target for pass deflections and interceptions. He scored a game-high 21 points and had five takeaways in the close loss. Reeves currently holds offers from Chicago State, Detroit, Milwaukee, Northern Arizona, Northern Illinois, and Saint Louis.
KeJuan Clements / 6’2″ / PG / Simeon Career Academy / 2019
Clements is a strong lead guard with a linebacker build. He is tough, gritty, and easily can get defenders off of him when attacking the basket. His strength to go along with his slashing ability allows him to get to the foul line at a rapid rate. Simeon’s other unsigned senior guard is physically ready to play Division I basketball. He scored 10 points and dished out five assists in the game. Clements still holds offers from Chicago State, Milwaukee, UIC, and Western Illinois.
