Saturday’s Games to Watch
Saturday’s must-see games in WIAA boy’s basketball action…
New Glarus (4-0) vs. Mauston (2-0) (JustAGame Fieldhouse)
An intriguing non-conference battle between state contenders. New Glarus is getting a huge year from senior guard Jaden Kreklow (26.3 ppg) and have won all four of their games by at least 16 points, including two victories by 30 points or more. The 1-2 punch of Joe Bauer (23.0 ppg) and Cade Hall (17.5) will help Mauston give the Knights their biggest test this season.
Wrightstown (3-0) vs. Brown Deer (2-1) (Baird/Gustman Shootout)
Good matchup between two contenders in Division 3. Wrightstown comes in unbeaten behind senior guard Mayson Hazaert (27.0 ppg). The Tigers are coming off a very impressive thumping over Marinette on Thursday. Brown Deer suffered their first loss of the season on Friday, falling to Pewaukee. Brooklyn Jagers (27.7 ppg), Jaylon Gentry (24.3 ppg), and the Falcons look to bounce back.
Racine St. Catherine’s (1-0) at Martin Luther (3-0)
The two favorites in the Metro Classic Conference square off on Saturday. Racine St. Catherine’s is loaded with young talent, including sophomore Kamari McGee, who poured in 21 points in the season opener last Friday, and Tyrese Hunter, who added 16. The Angels will look to take down a veteran Martin Luther squad who arguably has the best trio in the state with Ace Evans (15.0 ppg), Trequan Carrington (20.5 ppg), and Xzavier Jones (16.3 ppg).
Others: Seymour vs. Merrill (Baird/Gustman Shootout), Wauwatosa West vs. Kaukauna (Baird/Gustman Shootout), Holmen at Eau Claire Memorial),
