Hugo 60, Whitesboro 44 (7th place game)
Hugo took seventh place with a win against Whitesboro on Saturday. After an early lead form Whitesboro in the opening minutes, Hugo took care of business, shooting 47 percent from the field in the first quarter to take an 18-13 lead. Whitesboro stayed persistent in its pursuit, but Hugo wouldn’t look back. The Bulldogs couldn’t quite catch back up, and Hugo took the 60-44 win. Hugo’s Eric Hilbert finished the day with 13 points on 5-9 shooting. Houston Greggs recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Whitesboro’s Jayse Ward and Bobby Rose contributed 10 points apiece, with Ward adding 7 rebounds.
Kingston 58, Fort Cobb-Broxton 47 (consolation game)
After trailing for most of the second half, Kingston pulled away from Fort Cobb-Broxton for the consolation title in the TOC. Kingston’s RJ Weeks finished with 20 points and Conner Brister had 17. Jacob Germany had 11 points and 23 rebounds, giving him the fourth-best rebounding performance in TOC history. Kellen Hines of Fort Cobb-Broxton finished with 26 points, giving him 93 points for the weekend.
Kingfisher 77, Putnam City West 56
Kingfisher outlasted PC West 77-56 Saturday evening to take the third-place trophy in the TOC. The top-ranked YellowJackets quarreled with the Patriots for the introductory three quarters of hoops. Entering the final eight minutes of play, Kingfisher held a one-point lead, earned after ten lead changes and six ties. Behind Trey Green’s 28 points and Matthew Stone’s 25 points and 14 rebounds, the Jackets began to pull ahead in the fourth quarter. With all-around team ball, Kingfisher engaged a lead that PC West was unable to overcome. PC West’s Rondel Walker finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Elijah James also added 10 into the mix.
Booker T. Washington 66, Tulsa Memorial 60 (championship)
In the first all-Tulsa Public Schools finals matchup in the TOC since 1992, Bryce Thompson and the Booker T. Washington Hornets stole the show in a 6-point win over crosstown competitor Tulsa Memorial. Thompson led all scorers with 25 points and added 6 assists. Seth Hurd and Trey Phipps had 14 and 13 points, respectively. Memorial’s Keylan Boone had 15 points and 10 boards in the loss. Kalib Boone had 14 and 9. The Chargers led after the first half. Booker T. Washington took the lead back with a 22-point third quarter, besting the Chargers by 9. Both teams landed a 20-point fourth quarter as the Hornets landed the big-time win.
