Jaden House | 6’3” WG | Henrico
House was injured for much of last season but after a strong summer with River City Reign he’s making an immediate impact so far this season with Henrico. The 6’3” guard has good strength, can create his shot on the ball or move without it and is a true three level scorer. His ability to fill it up quickly and in bunches makes him a guy you have to stop before he gets it going.
Jahme Ested | 6’0” CG | Henrico
House’s backcourt mate, Ested is the perfect compliment to him because of his ability to make plays on both sides of the basketball. He can find House and other guys for easy scores, he gets in the lane at will and he’s a strong finisher who has a good middle game and good body control. Defensively Ested shines, where he has great instincts and moves his feet well when guarding the basketball.
Jordan Parham | 5’11” PG | Huguenot
After dropping 34 in a win over Trinity Episcopal in the first round of the TDIT, Parham is officially on the map. Huguenot’s go-to junior guard is an exceptional shot maker with in the gym range and a knack for wanting the ball when the game is on the line most. He can work on or off the basketball, knows how to create space and the fact that he’s in range once he crosses half court makes him a nightmare to guard.
Joe Bamisile | 6’4” WG | Monacan
My pick as preseason Class 4 Player of the Year, Bamisile wasted no time dropping 51 in the first game of the season when Monacan defeated Powhatan. He has good size and bounce, can play on or off the basketball and is a menace in transition where he’s able to use his length and athleticism to finish above the rim. His elite scoring ability from all three levels makes him a serious candidate to lead the area, maybe the state, in scoring.
Elijah Seward | 6’0” CG | John Marshall
Seward has been on the radar the past couple of seasons, but this year the junior is starting to find his rhythm and place is a stacked John Marshall lineup. He’s improved his jump shooting, he’s an explosive athlete with good hang time around the rim and he’s a guy who can heat up quickly and make shots.
Tyler Henderson | 5’8” PG | LC Bird
Arguably the best “traditional point guard” in this group, Henderson negates his size in a number of ways including being a pest defensively and seeing the game ahead of others. He’s starting to shoot the ball better off the catch and off the pull-up, and now that he’s a scoring option it makes him an even better distributor. Defensively he has the heart of a lion, as he’ll pick the opposing point guard up 90 plus feet and hound him the entire game.
