Jeffery Brazziel – 2022 – SF – Milwaukee Bradley Tech
There’s a couple more guys we need to see, but once the initial class of 2022 rankings come out, this kid will likely be on top. Brazziel was terrific in Tuesday’s loss. The freshman forward had a game-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds, three blocks, and two assists. A lengthy, smooth prospect, Brazziel makes the game look easy. It almost looks like Brazziel isn’t playing hard, but in reality, he’s just so fluid and covers a ton of ground with the basketball that he gets a lot of work done without using a ton of energy.
Going forward, Brazziel needs a mid-range game. He’s caught between taking a spot-up jumper or slashing to the basket. He certainly didn’t need it on Tuesday and Brazziel got to the rim at will. The lefty is an adequate ball handler for his size and has a knack for beating double teams and operating in traffic. At 6-foot-4, Brazziel has a frame that’s still budding. Next year, he’s going to take off athletically and likely start to draw high major looks in the near future.
Arion Burns – 2020 – G – Milwaukee Bradley Tech
Burns struggled with Falls’ zone on Tuesday, but you can see the talent and why he’s put up strong numbers this season and the last. A speedy guard with great handles, Burns can create off the bounce. He only goes about 6-feet and 160 pounds, but Burns’ quickness is what separates him on the floor. A good 3-point shooter on and off the ball, Burns has some deep range as well. There’s little reason to believe that Burns won’t bounce back and have a nice year in the Milwaukee City Conference.
Steven Clay – 2022 – SF – Menomonee Falls
Clay struggled on Tuesday, but we’ve seen him enough to know that he’ll challenge Brazziel for the No. 1 spot in this class down the road. A plus-length wing that can shoot the ball, Clay is arguably the most intriguing prospect in Wisconsin’s 2022 class. Clay was playing a little too fast and that resulted in a handful of turnovers on Tuesday. Still very raw physically, Clay needs to put on some weight to help him absorb the contact that comes at the varsity level. Just scratching the surface of his potential, Clay can knock down shots off the bounce from anywhere on the floor. This is a likely high major prospect if he develops the way most think he will.
Ricky Price – 2019 – G – Menomonee Falls
Loved what I saw out of Price on Tuesday. A player that’s capable of taking this Menomonee Falls team to a new level this season, Price brings some intriguing elements to the floor. An uptempo guard that’s always looking to push, Price killed Bradley Tech with his ability in transition. If he wasn’t finding open shooters on the wing and in the corner, he was taking the ball to the rack, putting a ton of pressure on the Trojans all game long. As a result, Falls racked up 96 points offensively. Price is a great floor general for his team’s style and will give opponents headaches this season. Price had a team-best 15 points.
Seth Trimble – 2022 – PG – Menomonee Falls
Trimble comes off the bench and gives the Indians a different dimension. A point guard that can probe and break people down in the half court, Trimble is a smooth operator that drives and kicks at a high level. He’s a pass-first guard, but can do some things offensively. The younger brother of former North Carolina wing J.P. Tokoto, Trimble is a strong 3-point shooter and a threat to go coast-to-coast in transition. He’s also got his brother’s leaping ability. The 5-foot-10 Trimble nearly threw down a put back slam that had the crowd going. Defensively, Trimble is very good on the ball. He slides his feet and can defend well past the 3-point arc without giving up straight-line drives to the hoop. Trimble finished with 12 points in the win.
Notes
* Falls 2020 G/F Charlie Pomroy, 2020 G/F Buck Siebert, and 2021 guard Joey Tabbert were just deadly on Tuesday. The trio combined for eight 3-pointers, all shooting at a very high percentage. Pomroy, Siebert, and Tabbert all fed off Falls’ outstanding point guard play and made Bradley Tech pay dearly for lackluster coverage. Pomroy had a team-high 15 points, while Siebert added 14 and Tabbert with 11.
*The Indians had a total of six players in double figures, including 2021 forward Colton Smith, who had 10 points.
*2020 guard Ledarius Jackson scored 14 points for Bradley Tech.
