Westlake vs. Corner Canyon
in abgame were the Chargers would seem to be the favorites on paper they found themselves in a battle with Westlake. The Chargers only had 3 players score in this game. Westlake was able to pull off the upset with a 49-40 win on the Chargers home court.
Highland vs. Riverton
both teams picked up opening day wins. This matchup was between two teams trying to find their identity. Highland was able to pull of the win with great all around play from a host of players. Christian Rich has been averaging 14 points a game and looking solid for the Rams.
Lehi vs. Alta
in a game that featured two teams that have yet to win a game Alta cane out victorious. Alta has 5 players score in double digits. Lehi had a great game by Kevin Windsor who had 28 points but it wasn’t enough as Alta won 86-81.
Syracuse vs. Cedar
kingston Williams had a double-double to lead Syracuse to the 12 point victory. Cedar remains winless on the season.
Overview
Although Westlake is a 6A school beating a 5A Corner Canyon was an upset victory.
Highland has a shot to see what they’re made of as the face Westlake in the Championship game.
The rest of the teams in the tournaments really have to figure some things out if they want to compete.
