Here is a look at some of the top juniors in Charlotte compiled by PrepHoopsNC’s Justin Byerly.
Jaden Seymour
6’8 F Northside Christian
Justin’s Take: Long; good motor; long wingspan that he uses to finish over players; can step out and shoot it; good fundamentals; high basketball IQ; good shooting stroke/form; good finisher with contact: has offers from VT and NC State.
Tristan Maxwell
6’2 PG North Mecklenburg HS
Justin’s Take-Understands how to create space off the dribble; goes at the top foot on the defender; good handle; good size; plays well off the ball; comes into his shot; has nice rotation and form from outside; good defender; stays under control;
Josh Banks
6’3 SG Olympic HS
Justin’s Take-Big time shooting guard; can really get hot from outside and has really good size; very athletic; can finish plays well above the rim; tough-nosed kid that can handle contact.
Ford Cooper
6’2, G Carmel Christian
Justin’s Take-Shifty off the dribble; can make defenders miss; strong and sturdy frame; high basketball IQ; He was offered by Tulane back in June; Has really god court vision and this will be his team next season with the departures of five players who have signed with Division One programs;
Joshua Massey
6’6 W United Faith
Justin’s Take-Really good shooting lefty that can score from all points on the floor; long and athletic; does a good job of rebounding his area and does a good job of not forcing things. Can defend multiple positions with his length and size;
Jackson Threadgill
6’5 W Davidson Day
Justin’s Take-Extremely good shooting ability; really nice size at close to 6’5; able to score over smaller guards with his size; strong defender and is being coached at the high school level by a former D1 assistant in Ron Johnson at Davidson Day.
