At 6-foot-3, he’s got the size to be a threat anywhere on the floor, and he’s been taking full advantage of that this season.
“Offensively, I’m probably best at driving, but I’m a good shooter, too. I can pretty much do anything the coach needs me to do, I can post up and shoot, I can pass,” said Anderson, who mentioned what he’s working most to improve.
“I need to get stronger and just get better with the ball in my hands, just a little more control with the ball.”
With Salt Lake Rebels 16U this past season, Anderson was traveling the country showcasing his skills, in addition to working out on his own. “We went to Vegas and California and I lifted a lot and I just played one-on-one with a bunch of guys on the team. I also went to see a trainer once or twice a week,” said Anderson.
After a sophomore season watching the Timberwolves win 20 games from the bench, Anderson has stepped into a starting guard spot this season.
“My role is to get a bunch of rebounds and really help out on the defensive end. They need me to score like 10-ish points per night, I don’t need to carry the load too much on the offensive end,” he said.
Recruitment has been slow so far for the big guard, but he did mention Cal State Fullerton has been in contact with him. Next spring and summer he could see that ramp up.
“I’m just going to go to a bunch of open tournaments for college coaches to come check me out,” said Anderson.
