At 6’5, 188-pounds, Butler brings good size and athleticism to the court. He is a slasher who can knock down a 3-point shot and brings good versatility to the court at the defensive end with good lateral movement and shot blocking ability.
He spent the summer competing for Marcus Denmon Elite and says the experience was a good one as he started to draw interest from college programs, including Washburn and Emporia State.
“I feel like that adversity that I experienced during AAU has prepared me for school ball,” Butler said. “I worked on my strength and conditioning with Trilogy and ball skills and shooting with Marty from Marcus denmon elite.”
The Titans have a new-look varsity squad in 2018-19, with three seniors and just one full time returning starters.
Butler says the biggest influence on his basketball career to date has been his parents.
“The biggest influence on my basketball career is my parents because they’re always supporting me and pushing me to be my best,” he said.
A fan of Kevin Durant, Butler says he has taken various elements of the Warriors’ star forward’s game and made them his own.
“I enjoy watching Durant and I’ve studied his change of pace and try to put that in my game,” he says.
Butler has heard from several college programs, including Division II Washburn and Emporia State.
