Prep Hoops has been aware of Jackson for some time and he currently ranks as a top 3 post in Washington’s 2021 class.
Jackson is currently averaging 17.5 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. He has already shown glimpses of being a dominant force at the high school level. He had 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks versus Rogers High School early in the season. In another game he put up 25 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. The sophomore has noticed the improvement in his game as well; “I’m getting stronger and my body is starting to fill out more, which helps a lot.” His high school coach John Kiley hired a strength trainer for the team and Jackson has greatly benefited from that. Taller payers typically take more time to grow into their body and Jackson is putting in the work to speed up that process. He is up to 200 pounds and still has a lot of filling out to do, which will only help his game down the road. More than an inside presence, Jackson has the freedom to shoot threes as they come. He is 4/5 from behind the arc, which is something he works on, so he can make them when the opportunity arises. His growing versatility and ability to block and alter shots has made him a target for some Division 1 schools.
Recruitment Update
Jackson has heard from a few schools early on in the recruitment process. The University of Washington came to one of his high school’s practices and his mom went to school there as well, which is a bonus. Northwest recruiting guru Ken Bone of Pepperdine has also been in contact. Jackson visited Pepperdine’s campus and mentioned the facilities, weather and early interest from their program as big time attractions. Eastern Washington and WSU have also made contact to this point.
Jackson plans to play with most of his high school teammates at Pioneer Tech this upcoming spring and summer and continue developing his game and body.
