Fricka gets the majority of his points around the basket as he grabs a ton of rebounds. At 6-foot-2, he does a good job using his length to get to the basket with minimal strides and recognizes when he has an opening or needs to dish it off to a teammate.
Although he can knock down a 3-pointer here and there, he mentioned that he is looking to improve his free throw shooting and his perimeter shooting. Adding an outside game to his repertoire will force defenders to respect him beyond the paint.
Fricka believes that the off-court chemistry West Potomac has contributed to their success on the court, and it will help them as the season moves on.
Like many juniors, the interest from college programs is still quiet but received a couple of responses after reaching out to a few coaches over the summer. He runs with the Nova Cavs throughout the AAU circuit and will be sure to gain legitimate interest this upcoming spring/summer.
In the meantime, be on the lookout for Fricka at an upcoming West Potomac game. They host Oakton on Wednesday with tip-off being set for 7:30 p.m.
