Player Of The Week: Week 2 Florida
The second week of FHSAA basketball was in full swing. There were a ton of games and action across the state of Florida.
With that being said, we look at our four nominees for Player Of The Week for Week 2.

Week 1 winner (2019 Lake Mary Prep G Michael Gavin)
Sam Griffin (Westminster)
A 2019 UT Arlington commit, Westminster guard Sam Griffin had some big performances this week with 35 points against Western on Friday and 31 points in a win over Yeshiva on Thursday. He also had 11 points in a scrappy 52-48 win over Calvary Christian on Tuesday. The Lions are 6-0 and looking like a favorite to win a third straight Class 4A state title.
Dallas Graziani (Cooper City)
Reaching the 1,000 career point mark as a junior in an impressive feat. Doing it with a 50-point outing is quite an accomplishment. That is what 2020 Cooper City guard Dallas Graziani did on Friday in a win over Nova, outscoring the Titans singlehandedly with 50 points in a 90-48 victory. He also had 29 against Plantation on Monday and 28 against McArthur on Tuesday. Graziani has helped the Cowboys start the season 5-0 and emerge as a Class 8A threat.
Damari Monsanto (Western)
What a week it has been for 2019 Western guard Damari Monsanto. He recorded 38 points in a 77-73 loss to Westminster on Friday. Monsanto produced 37 points in a win over Stranahan on Monday and 20 points in a win over Piper on Wednesday. The Wildcats are 3-2 and have a clear shot at winning Class 9A-District 12.
Tyrone Baker (Riverdale)
The stat lines 2021 6’8″ Riverdale forward Tyrone Baker put together were quite impressive.
He opened his week with a triple double, posting 16 points, 12 rebounds and 11 blocks in a win over North Port. Baker then followed that up with a double double, recording 17 points, 16 rebounds, three steals and three blocks against Gulf Coast. On Friday, he had another double double, adding 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in a victory over East Lee County. The Raiders are 6-0 so far and look like the favorite in Class 8A-District 12.
