Hupmann received 70,150 votes on the poll, good for 48.18% of the total vote. He scored 26 points and hauled in 10 rebounds vs. North Posey and the following game he scored 25 points along with 18 rebounds vs. Henderson County (KY).
Hupmann is a huge figure inside for Evansville Day as he stands 7’1. He is thin but fairly strong which allows him to be more mobile than you would expect. Hupmann is a monster on the boards for Evansville Day averaging 12 rebounds per game. He has yet to be in single digits in the rebounding column this year. The best part of his game might just be his ability to block the ball. Hupmann is averaging 8.4 blocked per game this year with a season high of 14 in the first game of the season.
Evansville Day is currently 4-3 this year and Hupmann is pretty proud of it since the Evansville Day team is very small. “I feel that I have started this season very strong but I can still improve,” Hupmann said. “My team is playing very well for the limited amount of players we have and the tough schedule w play. I feel that we have improved drastically from last year.”
Hupmann is very solid offensively when he gets the ball on the block. He shoots the ball at a 66 percent clip from inside the arc. The combination of his scoring, rebounding, and defensive ability makes Hupmann a very appealing candidate for a college team. No one has pulled the trigger on an offer yet but he has unofficially visited Purdue, Dayton, IUPUI, and Evansville. Hupmann is very open in the recruiting process at this time because he isn’t quite sure what he wants to study.
