Dekedran Thorn 6’2 SG / 2019 / Dawson High School.
This prospect can flat out score the rock. He shot well from deep. He attacked the rim and finished at a high rate through contact. He displayed his mid-range game. Definitely has the capability to score at all 3 levels at a high rate. He scored 15 in the final four game, and 26 in the title game against one of the top guards in his class. He was the tourneys MVP.
Lorenzo Waddy 6’8 C / 2019 / Dawson High School.
This big man is a force down low. He uses his size well and runs the floor exceptionally well. Has great hands. Has good footwork. He was causing havoc for his opponents in the paint. He brings a lot of energy to the floor. He is definitely a prospect to watch through this year.
Jordan Marshall 6’6 PF / 2019 / Dawson High School.
This prospect was active defensively. Played solid on the boards. And got after the 50/50 balls in the game. He had a solid game verse Episcopal and was guarding one of there bigs down low. If he can play like this consistently he will be a force the entire season for Dawson.
Z’Corrian Haynes 6’3 WF / 2022 / Stafford High School.
The Freshman played solid on the second day of the event. He was getting to the lane, and rebounding the ball well. He led his team in scoring the entire tourney. This prospect has a bright future ahead of him.
Nico Hardin 6’7 PF / 2019 / Spring Woods High School.
Nico was the same glue guy from day 1. On day 2 he was more of a defensive presence. He averaged 10 defensive rebounds in the two games Saturday. He also averaged 3 blocks and altered several shots. He averaged a double-double the entire tournament. He’s not afraid to get in the mix. A tough glue guy.
Javonne Lowery 6’4 WG / 2019 / Pearland High School.
Fast, quick, and explosive are just a few ways to describe his strong attributes. He was able to go coast to coast off of defensive rebounds. He kept defenders on there heels at all times. He shot the ball decent from deep. Played above the rim and had a nasty tip back dunk over an opponent. He averaged 11 points per game for the event.
Shane Sorrels 5’10 PG / 2019 / Klein Oak High School.
Stepped up big time on Day 2. Stepped into the leader role with teammate Tim Eldridge out taking his SAT. Shane scored 12 points and 11 points on the day 2 games. Shot the ball well from behind the arc. He was very scrappy on the defensive side of the ball. He follows his shots and grabs a lot of offensive boards from his own missed shots.
Aaron Davis II 6’4 SF / 2019 / Klein High School.
It was good seeing this prospect play on the wing. This spring and summer he played on the wing. Last year he was in the post for his school team. He has a great physical build for a 6’4 SF. Although he does have good post game. He can create for him self and teammates from the wing. Has a good mid-range and inside game. He played solid in both games on day 2.
Mason Tharp 6’8 C / 2021 / Klein High School.
This young prospect caught my eye on day 2. Big that gets up and down the floor. Rebounded the ball very well. Fought for positioning in the post and box out. Almost averaged a double-double in the two games on Saturday.
Adam Kanafani 6’5 CF / 2020 / Episcopal High School.
Very active combo forward. Was aggressive in both games. Very solid from 15 feet and in. Sets strong screens. Rolls great in pick and roll situations. Sealed off defenders in pick and open for positioning in the post. Controlled the paint. He can put the ball on the floor with a good dribble.
Kaleb Stewart 6’1 PG / 2021 / Crosby High School.
Has a mean crossover and quick first step. He was playing a lot off the ball in the first game and displayed his two guard skills some with the catch and shoot. I also seen him on the block a time or two. He did it all for his team as they came away victorious in the game. He attacked from the wing. He attacked from the point position. He scored the ball in various ways and got teammates involved in the game.
Jaylen Herman 6’0 SG / 2021 / Crosby High School.
This prospect can shoot the lever off the ball. He was knocking down open jumpers and contested three pointers. He really thrived in the off ball set. Has a decent handle on the ball. Was a pest defensively, drew a lot of fouls but also cause a lot of turnovers. He also got his fair share of steals. He compliments Stewart really well within the system that they run.
