Panther Classic Results Day 1

<p>Prep Hoops took in the games from the opening day at the Panther Classic at Carolina Forest HS. The host Panthers played twice on the opening day. Lets take a look at the results. Andrews HS and Carvers Bay both didn't play on the opening day of the Panther Classic. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Cheraw HS 77  Calhoun County HS 72  (2 overtimes)</strong></p> <p>The Braves prevailed in this game after 2 overtimes and a fire drill before the 2nd overtime started. The Braves were led in scoring by<strong> Xavier Dixon</strong> with 18 points, <strong>Jonathan Gordon</strong> added 15 points and was a workhorse on the glass for the Braves. <strong>Xavier McIver</strong> a football player added 12 points in the win. <strong>Jalen Coit</strong> was held to just 6 points. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Saints fall to (7-3) on the season. <strong>Jabarie Perry</strong> led the way for the Saints with 25 points and <strong>Ethan Tullock</strong> chipped in with 19 points. Head Coach Zam Fredrick is in his 29th year at Calhoun County HS. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Carolina Forest HS  68  Franklin County (GA) 34</strong></p> <p>The host Panthers had little problems with the visitors from Georgia in this game. The Panthers jumped out to a 32-15 halftime lead. <strong>Alex Greene</strong> led the way with 10 points, while <strong>Mason Garcia,</strong> <strong>Kyle Watkins</strong> and <strong>Mikah Nelson</strong> all added 9 points in the win. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>John Handley HS (VA) 46 vs North Myrtle Beach HS 29 </strong></p> <p>The Judges from Winchester, VA had little trouble with the Chiefs. The Judges cruised to a 25-10 halftime and never looked back. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Keenan HS 61 vs Conway HS 60 </strong></p> <p>What a game here the defending back to back champions Conway HS Tigers fell in a heartbreaker. <strong>DeAunte</strong> <strong>Sherman</strong> connected on a three pointer with 5.3 seconds left to tie the game at 60-60. Keenan brought the ball up the floor and was fouled with 1,5 seconds left. The Raiders went  the line and made 1 of 2 free throws to clinch the victory. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Dillon Jones</strong> led the Raiders with 18 points, <strong>Latrell Taylor</strong> 17 points and <strong>Raekwon Horton</strong> 11 points. <strong>Asanti Price</strong> added 9 points coming off the bench for the Raiders. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Sherman led the Conway HS Tigers in defeat with 16 points on 4 three pointers made and <strong>Tonka Hemingway</strong> added 15 points. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Myrtle Beach HS 73 vs East Hall HS (GA) 72 </strong></p> <p>The Seahawks battled back in this game to pull out the victory. <strong>Emorie Knox</strong> led the charge with 25 points, <strong>TJ</strong> <strong>Austin</strong> 17 points, <strong>Da'Ron Finkley</strong> 12 points and <strong>James Marques</strong> 11 points. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Jayvion Rucker</strong> scored 20 points, <strong>Kylan Curry</strong> 18 points and <strong>TJ Campbell</strong> 11 points for East Hall HS in the loss. The Vikings fall to (7-4) on the year. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Covington HS (TN) 77 vs Carolina Forest HS 63 </strong></p> <p>The host Panthers played 2 games today with the odd number of teams in the event. The Panthers won't play on Friday but will play again 2 games on Saturday. <strong>Alex Greene</strong> led the charge with 20 points, <strong>Kyle Watkins</strong> 17 points, <strong>Mason Garcia</strong> 13 points and <strong>PJ Robinson</strong> chipped in with 10 points. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Travontae Powell</strong> led the Covington (TN) Chargers with 21 points while <strong>Tyjuan Smith</strong> added 20 points. The Chargers move to (11-1) on the season and play Myrtle Beach HS on Friday evening. </p>
