Lions wing DJ Rodman scored 29 points, including a game-winner with 0.5 seconds left on the clock, to give JSerra the 63-62 victory.
Here’s the next five performers from the week-long event.
Liam Woodrum, Anaheim Canyon
Woodrum is one of the quickest guards in Orange County with the ball in his hands. He has blow-by ability in both half-court and transition settings and finishes around the basket with creativity. Woodrum has quick hands on the defensive end and comes up with a good amount of steals. The sophomore needs to continue working on his perimeter shooting as that is his biggest weakness at this point in his development.
Ian Jones, Sonora
Jones is part of the sophomore guard duo, along with Daniel Esparza, that makes the future bright for the Raiders. Jones is a knockdown jump shooter off the catch from both 3-point range and mid-range. Jones scored 21 points in a loss to Canyon with three 3-pointers.
Cameron Dashiell, La Habra
Dashiell, a transfer from Buena Park, is a bulldog on both sides of the floor. He uses his strong 6-foot-1 frame to muscle defenders in the paint and finish around the basket. Defensively, he uses that strength to wall-up on the perimeter and keep potential drivers on the perimeter.
Kevin White, JSerra
White came up big in the small categories in the championship game. The 6-foot-4 senior wing was a beast on the offensive glass, giving the Lions a number of second-chance opportunities throughout the game. White grabbed three offensive boards in the final two possessions which helped JSerra set up that game-winning shot.
Trevor Seesemann, Troy
Seesemann opened the tournament strong with an 18-point, 5-assist effort against JSerra and continued his consistent play through Friday. The 6-foot-4, 175 pound wing has some of the best shooting form in all of Orange County and can get hot in a hurry. Seesemann didn’t shoot it well on Saturday, but it was good to see him impact the game in other ways, especially with his passing.
