North Dakota Class A Teams of the Week – December 10-15
The season is young, but there have already been a number of teams with resume-boosting wins. There haven’t been too many surprises early in the season but with a wealth of talent spread all over the state, there seems to be quite a bit of parity among the teams in both the EDC and WDA. With that in mind, there are always opportunities for good wins and strong weeks. Here are a couple teams that pieced together strong weeks:
Fargo Davies
Davies looks like the best team in the state though the Eagles certainly have competition at the top as West Fargo Sheyenne is off to a terrific start too. The Eagles beat Grand Forks Red River, a team that will likely contend for a top-four finish and state tournament appearance out of the EDC, by 24 points last Tuesday. Braeton Motschenbacher has been one of the best players in the state, averaging better than 17 points per game. The Eagles rounded out the week with a dominant showing against Grand Forks Central, winning 87-47.
Jamestown
The Blue Jays are off to a great start on the young season thanks in large part to the dynamic duo of Boden Skunberg and Mason Walters. Skunberg’s averaging 30 points and 8 rebounds while Walters is delivering 21.3 points and 11 boards. The Blue Jays handed Bismarck Legacy its only loss of the season, smashing the Sabers by 32 before beating Turtle Mountain 97-79.
