2020 5’10 Delonnie Hunt | Rock Creek Christian
Hunt made the move to leave St. John’s and attend Rock Creek Christian Academy for the summer and since the move he has played well with his new school. Hunt doesn’t pass the eye test due to his size but he will show you that he can still play good basketball. He is comfortable with the ball in his hands and brings good leadership to the court. One of the highlights of the event was him catching a very nice alley oop. On Saturday he finished with 18 points in a big win over Cesar Chavez.
2020 6’2 Cory Barnes | Archbishop Carroll
I saw Cory play twice last week and this dude can score the basketball. He is averaging 18 points on the year and is doing it in a variety of ways. One thing that he has been doing well is using his size to draw fouls and get to the line. He is a big and strong guard standing at 6’2 with a lot of muscle on him. He is making a name for himself as one of the toughest guards in the area from the 2020 class.
2020 6’11 Tegra Izay | Archbishop Carroll
I have always loved the potential and upside Izay has and this Saturday was an example of why I think he is a great college prospect. Izay is 6’11 and brings a lot of length to the court. On Saturday he finished with 12 points on 5-6 from the field. He is a guy that is going to get a lot of rebounds for his team and try to finish around the basket whenever he has the opportunity to.
2019 6’6 Hakim Hart | Roman Catholic
St. Joe’s is getting a flat out scorer that can shoot the ball. On Saturday he finished with 15 points while looking extremely confident in shooting the basketball. He was Roman Catholic’s go to scorer on Saturday. Look for Hakim to be one of the most athletic and proficient scorers in the A10 during his tenure in the league.
2019 6’2 Casey Morsell | St. Johns
I have seen Casey Morsell a lot of times during his high school days and his performance on Saturday was up there with one of the best I have seen him play. He had a final tally of 24 points, 2 rebounds and 5 steals in a gut wrenching in a hard fought game against Nicolet. Even though his team took the loss, it was Casey that brought his team back from a double digit deficit going back and forth with Jalen Johnson. He was tremendous on defensive and has proven he is ready to defend in the ACC next year.
2020 6’8 Jalen Johnson | Nicolet
Jalen was the most impressive player on Saturday finishing with 28 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists in a two point win over St. John’s. He was making tough shots over a potential future All ACC defender, setting up his teammates with and rebounding at a high level. He wanted to let everyone know that he deserves to be in consideration for the number 1 player in the 2020 class.
