Guy Flauntery | 6’0” G | Rock Creek Christian 2020
RCC has a stacked back court, but the best playmaker of the group may very well have been Flauntery. A strong and athletic lead guard, Flauntery did a little bit of everything to help Rock Creek, including making shots, making plays for others and rebounding the basketball. Despite being just 6’0”, he rebounds much bigger than that and he’s a three-level shot maker. He finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Seth Lundy | 6’3” WG | Roman Catholic 2019
A Penn State commit, Lundy came into Richmond and made a big impact in helping Roman Catholic take down local Archbishop Carroll. A big two guard with great length and shooting ability, Lundy can really fill it up in bunches and can guard multiple positions defensively. He rebounds well for a guy on the wing, but most impressive is his efficiency behind the arc. He finished with a game high 20 points and 9 rebounds, and while he was only 6-for-14 from the field and he was a steady 3-for-5 from behind the arc. He should be an immediate impact guy next year at PSU.
Darius Maddox | 6’6” WF | St. John’s 2020
Maddox didn’t have his best game of the season, but he showed flashes of what makes him a high major prospect who is trending upwards. He has great length, and while he needs too ill out and get bigger, he uses his length on both ends to impact the game. He has a good midrange game, he can put it on the deck and get in the paint and he get to the line quite a bit. He’ll be a difference maker for St. John’s this year while continuing to trend upwards with coaches.
Ish Leggett | 6’3” WG | St. John’s 2020
As far as the returners for St. John’s, Leggett has been the one so far this season that looks like he’s taken the biggest leap. The guard has a great frame and a great feel for the game, especially in transition when he’s able to get downhill and get to the rim. Legget has the ability to get his spot and finish shots in traffic and he can rebound and defend multiple positions. He really picked it up in the second half and finished with 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field.
Jamari Sibley | 6’6” WF | Nicolet (WI) 2020
While 6’9” teammates Jalen Johnson got the most recognition (which was well earned), Siblet was also very impressive and emerged as a no-brainer HM recruit. His length and athleticism alone are impressive, as he can play and guard both wing positions at the next level. Siblet was hot early, draining shots from all over the floor, and he showed how he can do a little bit of everything. He finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, three assists and two blocks, many of the plays leaving spectators in awe.
Jalen Durch | 6’8” PF | Roman Catholic 2022
There were quite a few freshman who stood out at the event, but there may not have been a single one that projects better long term than Durch. He’s big, physical and very smart and productive for his age. He protects the rim well without fouling, can finish with both hands in the paint and is a physical and intimidating presence in the post. He finished 7-for-9 with 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in their win over Archbishop Carroll.
