Intro: Louis Lesmond (2021)
A prospect that created buzz coming into the season is 6’5” 2021 small forward Louis Lesmond. The sophomore from Evanston just moved to America from France. He has excellent positional size with good length. Will need to continue to add strength. We have been told he is a shooter and in our early evaluation of him he has a clean shooting stroke. Sound passer that made a couple crisp dishes that led to points at the Chicago Elite Classic. Skilled wing with upside.
Lesmond discussed his transition from playing basketball in Europe to the American high school game.
“It is pretty different. In France it is slower and players play with a high IQ. This is much faster up and down. This is a different type of game, but I kind of like it with the fast breaks.”
He gave us the story of why he made the move across the ocean to play at Evanston.
“I moved to Chicago because my dad went to Purdue and he wanted us to live in the US and I want to go to college here too.”
Lesmond is a skilled forward that spoke about what he believes are the strengths in his game.
“I can shoot, pass, and get some rebounds.”
Add Lesmond to a talented 2021 class of prospects in the state of Illinois. We look forward to closely monitoring his progress over the season and more!
