D1 Colleges that haven’t added him to their list should do so ASAP, 6’6 with a long wingspan and getting better each time we see him.
71st HS Senior Forward BJ McLaurin: He showed some flashes of offensive aggression during this game which is something we definitely like to see. The stretch forward can shoot the deep ball, he banged inside the paint somewhat and did a nice job of rebounding the ball and getting it out to teammates.
Cardinal Gibbons Senior Forward Mike Walsh: Coming into their matchup with EE Smith, he was averaging about 26 points per contest. He didn’t have a dominant performance but showed some flashes of how good he can be. Really could see him doing well at the D2 level in the right program, he’s the type of player that can fit into a system and excel.
71st HS Senior Wing Tre Bell: Started off the game hot from deep knocking down his first three treys. Has nice height and wingspan, with improved ball handling ability, the time he has spent in the lab is truly paying off. FTCC and Bluefield College are both programs that have offered him, and he should have some more before it’s all said and done.
Cape Fear HS 2020 Guard Marquail James: One of the leading scorers in public school in the county, he is a player that teams are game planning for every night. He picked up some early fouls which caused his rhythm to be off but early on in the game you could see the scoring ability without a doubt. Knocking down shots from midrange, but he made the most impact with his ability to drive to the basket and finish in the paint.
Westover HS 2019 Guard Tyron George: His ability to score the ball from the wing and slashing was on full display. Has a nice midrange game but also understands how to use his strength to finish inside the paint through contact, multi-sport athlete.
