There will be an outstanding amount of talent in the building for this event which should lead to some good games and an opportunity for prospects to show college coaches what they can really do. With so many teams playing, it’s impossible to preview each and every game, so instead we are going to take a look at some of the players that we feel could have a break out event.
First Flight HS 2020 Guard Dylan Blake: He’s the hometown kid and will have the support of the fans in his favor. We have seen him play quite a few times, if he gets it going from deep, then it can be a long night for whoever he is up against.
Word of God Christian 2019 Wing Max Farthing: At 6’6 with the ability to knock down shots at a high rate, he is a player that colleges should be watching. He doesn’t need much space or time to get his shot off and does a nice job of moving without the ball.
Great Bridge Christian 2020 Jeriah Coleman: Anytime you have a legit 7 footer on the court, you can pretty much guarantee a few things. One he’s going to catch attention, and two he’s going to be a player that should be able to finish and block shots. Hampton and Wagner have already extended offers and with a solid showing he should only increase his interest.
Northside-Pinetown 2020 Guard Rashod Smith: In his first few years of varsity basketball, he has put up some monster numbers. Scoring the ball at a very high level as well as putting up big time assist numbers, he is one that we expect to show out and help lead his team in a major way.
Riverside HS-Williamston 2020 Guard/Forward Avion Pinner: If you haven’t been introduced to this young man, you should get ready as soon as possible. He already has good height for a prospect and over the times we watched him this spring and summer, he has played well and showed nice potential.
Kinston HS 2021 Guard Dontrez Styles: He’s next up in standout players to come from Kinston, with offers from numerous Mid Major and High Major programs coming before he even started his sophomore year. Any time you have a player that is from the Kinston area and is playing at a high level at an early age, you should already know that they will have a chance to be special.
South Central HS 2020 Forward Dayron Sharpe: This a name that you probably know already, especially if you’re a UNC fan. He committed to the Heels verbally very early on and is a player that has developed nicely over his first few years of high school. Scoring the ball and rebounding are things he does well but shot blocking is what we feel can transition the easiest to the next level.
