Northwest Classen: Dalin Wiggins.
Wiggins finished Friday night’s matchup with 11 points, but he seemed to be a guy that constantly made impact plays. Wiggins isn’t a flashy player by any means but when the Knights needed a bucket, or better yet, a big play, he was there.
Northwest Classen: Magued Ismail.
Didn’t get a ton of playing time. Didn’t even get as much as his teammate Wiggins, but when he did get it, he made a huge impact. He served as the Knight’s garbage guy in the paint, collecting rebounds, offensively and defensively, while providing hard-nosed interior defense against Muskogee on the first night of the Edmond Open.
Ismail finished the game with 5 points and 6 rebounds.
Santa Fe: Shawn Franklin.
Franklin is better than just a glue guy, but that’s the role he plays for Santa Fe. Not one of their focal points but does all the extra dirty work, and more. He’s a force in the paint and brings energy to this Wolves team. He’s the guy that dives for all the loose balls and collects offensive rebounds to extend possessions.
Franklin scored 10 points on Thursday night.
Edmond Memorial: Sean Pedulla.
Pedulla served as a glue guy in night one. Though a strong shooter, Pedulla wasn’t himself shooting the ball but adjusted his game to play a big role in Memorial’s route of Capitol Hill on Thursday night.
He was a relentless defender and the reason Memorial got so many points off turnovers. He finished the night with 8 points.
