With six games on tap, there is a ton of talent to be on the lookout for from a fan and college coach perspective. Today, we are putting together a list of those players to watch for each game.
12:00 Southport v Frankton
The first game of the day brings together a couple teams with some key seasons ahead. Southport is under a new head coach and trying to get things headed into a new direction while Frankton is loaded with senior talent and ready to go after another 2A State Championship. A lot of guys in the 2019 class still available for small school programs. Brevin Jefferson will also be of note for those DI programs.

1:40 Carmel v Jeffersonville
Carmel and Jeffersonville have played each other a few times over the last few years and this might be one of the most competitive meetings as both groups are loaded with talent. Carmel should be an outstanding team this year with a ton of senior talent. Jeffersonville is more built on youth but has a handful of DI talent. For those 2019 prospects, they are all on Carmel and built around a pair of guards in Karsten Windlan and Luke Heady. Cole Brady will be a small school post option. However, Tre Coleman, Jaylen Fairman, Peter Suder, and Will Loving-Watts will be the big draw for DI programs.
2019: Karsten Windlan – 6’0 PG (Carmel), Luke Heady – 5’11 PG (Carmel), Andrew Owens – 6’5 SF (Carmel/Findlay), John-Michael Mulloy – 6’9 PF (Carmel/Butler), Cole Brady – 6’8 C (Carmel)
2020: Jackson Jannsen – 5’11 PG (Carmel), Robert Fry – 6’2 SG (Carmel), Tre Coleman – 6’5 SF (Jeff), Jacob Jones – 5’10 PG (Jeff)
2021: Jaylen Fairman – 6’0 PG (Jeff)
2022: Peter Suder – 6’2 SG (Carmel), Will Loving-Watts – 6’3 SF (Jeff), Kobe Stoudemire – 5’8 PG (Jeff)
3:20 Brownsburg v New Castle
While New Castle’s Mason Gillis, won’t be playing in the game, there is still a ton of talent in this game and guys that are still available like Cam Alford, Reis Thomas, Ryan Wiggins, and Mason Hardwick, all seniors. The sophomore class in this game is pretty solid and could be getting some solid scouts out of this game with how much they will play. Pierce Thomas and Cam Alford will be the targets for this DI programs but Mason Gillis and Luke Bumbalough already are committed to Purdue and Ball State, respectively.
2019: Cam Alford – 6’0 PG (Brownsburg), Reis Thomas – 6’3 SF (Brownsburg), Gunnar Reffeitt – 6’2 SG (Brownsburg), Ryan Wiggins – 6’6 PF (Brownsburg), Richard Lang – 6’10 C (Brownsburg), Luke Bumbalough – 6’0 PG (NC/Ball State), Blake Burris – 5’10 PG (NC), Mason Hardwick – 5’10 PG (NC), Nick Grieser – 6’2 SF (NC), Mason Gillis – 6’6 PF (NC/Purdue)

2022: N/A
5:00 HSE v Culver Academies
This has a chance to be the best game of the day in terms of competitiveness. Tons of talent and pretty evenly matched. With Aaron Etherington, Noah Smith, and Ethan Brittain-Watts already committed to DI programs, it shows just how deep this talent will be because those aren’t even the best prospects in the game. Chris Grubbs, Mabor Majak, and Trey Galloway represent those younger players that will draw the eye of DI programs but nonetheless, there is a ton of guys to watch.
2019: Aaron Etherington – 6’6 SF (HSE/Toledo), Cameron Harris – 6’0 SG (HSE), Noah Smith – 6’1 PG (HSE/Indiana Wesleyan), Ethan Brittain-Watts – 6’0 PG (Culver/Boston)
2020: Bradley Beemon – 6’1 PG (HSE), Chris Grubbs – 6’5 SF (HSE), Mabor Majak – 7’1 C (HSE), Kole Hornbuckle – 6’4 SF (HSE), Trey Galloway – 6’4 SG (Culver), Nick Hittle – 6’9 C (Culver), Deontae Craig – 6’4 SF (Culver)
2021: Landon Morris – 6’5 SF (HSE), Vinny Buccilla – 6’2 PG (HSE)
2022: N/A
6:40 Cathedral v Zionsville
This could also be a very competitive game although Cathedral looks like they could cause some issues for Zionsville. However, the talent is probably deeper in this game rather than any one. With Armaan Franklin and Isaiah Thompson already off the board going to the top two in-state programs in Indiana and Purdue, they will be the headliners but in 2019, you have a ton of options to pay attention to. James Franklin looks healthy and good again, Hensley, Farah, Welch, Vernon, and Ritter are still all on the board. Also, the freshman class in this game is deep too.
2019: Armaan Franklin – 6’5 SG (Cathedral/Indiana), James Franklin – 6’0 PG (Cathedral), Justin Hensley – 6’4 SF (Cathedral), Isaac Farah – 6’8 PF (Cathedral), Ross Welch – 6’6 PF (Cathedral), Nate Childress – 6’7 PF (Zionsville/Bethel), Brandon Vernon – 6’6 PF (Zionsville), Jake Ritter – 5’11 PG (Zionsville), Isaiah Thompson – 6’0 PG (Zionsville/Purdue), Hogan Orbaugh – 6’8 C (Zionsville/DePauw)
2020: Grant Taueg – 6’1 SG (Cathedral), Gunnar Vannatta – 6’8 C (Zionsville), Ben Weidner – 6’2 SG (Zionsville), Anthony Scales – 6’5 SF (Zionsville)
2021: Dylan Ritter – 5’11 PG (Zionsville)
2022: Tayshawn Comer – 5’10 PG (Cathedral), Peter Moe – 6’7 PF (Cathedral), Isaiah Davis – 6’7 PF (Zionsville), Cam Haffner – 6’1 SG (Zionsville)
8:30 Center Grove v La Lumiere
Had nobody moved and this stayed the intended early matchup of Center Grove and Fort Wayne North, it would have been a battle of the two top Mr. Basketball contenders in Trayce Jackson-Davis and Keion Brooks Jr. While we still get that player matchup, La Lumiere represents and upgrade in overall talent and national attention. Should be an interesting game. Not sure if it will be that close or not but should be fun to watch regardless. A lot of committed players already but some national level talent is still on the board in Isaiah Stewart and Keion Brooks Jr.
2019: Ben Greller – 6’2 SG (CG), Ben Nicoson – 6’0 PG (CG/Indianapolis), Spencer Piercefield – 6’0 PG (CG/Indiana Wesleyan), Trayce Jackson-Davis – 6’10 PF (CG/Indiana), Cameron Petty – 6’0 SG (CG), Gerald Drumgoole – 6’5 SF (LL), Isaiah Stewart – 6’9 C (LL), Jakov Kukic – 6’10 C (LL/UC-Santa Barbra), Keion Brooks Jr. – 6’7 SF (LL), Paxson Wojcik – 6’5 SF (LL/Loyola-IL)
2020: Caleb Tidd – 6’4 SF (CG), Justin DeGraaf – 6’6 PF (CG), Desmond Polk – 6’4 SF (LL), Wendell Green Jr. – 5’11 PG (LL)
2021: Landin Hacker – 5’10 PG (CG), Charlie Bemis – 6’4 SF (CG)
2022: Tayven Jackson – 6’2 SG (CG), Kamari Lands – 6’6 SF (LL)
