- Corbin’s Matthew Taylor – The Redhounds have only played 3 games this season but Matthew is well on his way to a break-out season. Averaging 26 points and helping to pick up the slack for a Corbin team that lost a ton to graduation last season, Taylor is well on his way to moving out of older brother Andrew’s shadow.
- George Rogers Clark’s Lincoln Bush – After a transfer from Frederick Douglass, Bush was just hoping for more playing time than the limited role he played last season. So far Bush has averaged just shy of 9 points while adding 5.4 rebounds per game. While not blowing anyone away statistically, the 6’7 Junior is making an impact for a top 10-15 team in the state.
- Taylor County’s Kybrin Smith – After a disappointingly inconsistent Sophomore season, Kybrin has stepped up in a big way for the Cardinals. Averaging 12 points and 6 rebounds per game for an undefeated team is a big jump from scoring 4 points per game for a 5 win team as a Sophomore.
- Covington Catholic’s Grant Disken – After waiting his turn for two years, Disken has stepped up into a starter’s role and is leading the Colonels in scoring at 14.3 points per game. He’s also shooting the ball really well. Putting up shooting splits of 55/45/74 and leading his team to a 5-1 record to start the season.
- Conner’s Jalen Scott – Coming off a Sophomore season where he was mainly a role player at the varsity level, Scott is off to a good start, averaging nearly 20 points per game to go with almost 7 rebounds per game and shooting 50% from three this season. Conner is also off to a promising 4-2 start.
- Bullitt Central’s Jake Mann – After being a role player last season, Mann is off to a huge start while averaging 24 points and 5 rebounds per game for a team off to a strong 4-1 start. Mann is a do it all type who is going to find his way into our 2020 Rankings at the next update.
- LaRue County’s Mark Goode – Goode had an underachieving Sophomore season after a promising Freshman campaign. The 6’6 post is off to a great season this year with 19 points and 11 rebounds per game through 5 wins to start the year.
- Anderson County’s Tyler Rice – The graduation of Cobe Penny left a big hole in the Bearcat roster and Rice is stepping up to help fill it. Averaging 15 points and shooting 52% from three this year, Tyler is in the midst of a breakout season for Anderson County.
