Corey Ainsworth (2019, C, Wayland)
Ainsworth is a future college basketball player and is proving it. He’s a skilled big man who gets boards and scores in the paint. College coaches should head to Wayland to watch Ainsworth play.
Reece Hazelton (2020, G/F, Glen Lake)
Hazelton has shot up the prospect rankings. He has continued the momentum from a huge grassroots season . Hazelton is a matchup nightmare because of his ability to play iinside-out or outside-in.
Dylan Jergens (2019, G, Howardsville Christian)
Jergens is turning into a small town legend. With multiple 50+ point games, he is cementing his place as the best pure shooter in Michigan. Jergens is making a run for the Michigan scoring record and a seat at the Mr. Basketball table.
Gage McGuire (2019, SF, Coldwater)
McGuire is getting it done every game like he has for years now. He’s a versatile scorer who can get buckets from the paint to behind the arc. McGuire continues to show that he’s a selfless athlete who cares more about his team getting a W than he does about his collection of personal accolades.
Xander Okerlund (2019, SG, Glen Lake)
Okerlund has always been a scorer, but his game has obviously expanded. He’s handling the ball with precision, playing defense, and rebounding at a much higher level. If Okerlund continues to develop his game like this, opponents need to be wary.
Zach Peterson (2019, SG, Walled Lake Western)
Peterson is putting his name on the map. He’s an explosive shooter from behind the arc with no limits on his range. He has a quick release and rises up with control, allowing him to shoot off balance.
Orchard View HS Triple Threat: Keontae Barnes (2021, G), Davison Lane (2019, C), Dietrich Thornton (2019, G)
Orchard View has their own version of a Big 3. These athletes are carrying the load and doing it well. They are definitely worth a look this season.
SirReal Smith (2020, CG, Saginaw)
Smith is an elite athlete. He plays well in an uptempo transition game, where he can lead the break or run on the wing. Smith is a smooth athlete who can play either guard position.
Cam Williamson (2019, F, Walled Lake Western)
Williamson has proven to be a versatile player and a matchup nightmare because of his combination of size and perimeter skills. He’s explosive and can play above the rim. Williamson can play the 3,4, or 5.
Mason Wojtusik (2020, CG, Mt. Pleasant)
Wojtusik continues to show that he’s a Top 20-30 player in Michigan’s class of 2020. He can play on or off the ball, and is a scoring threat at either spot. Wojtusik continues to show scouts and coaches a mechanically sound and efficient jumper.
