1. Sierra Canyon (9-0)
Comment: The Trailblazers got their first few tests of the season last week, beating Camarillo, Corona Centennial, Riverside Notre Dame and Santa Clarita Christian by large margins. Sierra Canyon heads to Hawaii next for the Iolani Classic.
2. Rancho Christian (6-0)
Comment: The Eagles represented SoCal well at Hoophall West in Arizona, defeating Chicago (Ill.) Simeon and Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle. Rancho Christian has a nonleague game against Mission Bay Friday, before heading to the Tarkanian Classic.
3. St. John Bosco (9-0)
Comment: The Braves won the Father Barry Classic in NorCal with a convincing 85-69 decision over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Bosco is currently competing in its own tournament, the Bosco-Gahr Classic.
4. Fairfax (10-0)
Comment: The Lions blew out their first two Western League opponents and have a lengthy layoff prior to the loaded Classic at Damien post-holiday tournament.
5. Westchester (6-0)
Comment: The Comets crushed both of tis Western League opponents in preparation for the Iolani Classic in Hawaii.
6. Corona Centennial (5-2)
Comment: The Huskies’ only two losses came at the hands of No. 1 Sierra Canyon and No. 2 Rancho Christian. Corona Centennial should get back on track against Rimpau Street-rival Corona Santiago on Wednesday.
7. Bishop Montgomery (6-2)
Comment: The Knights’ two losses this year were to No. 4 Fairfax and No. 5 Westchester while being down three starters – two to injury and one to a 30-day sit out period. Bishop will head down south to Carlsbad to take on Torrey Pines at the BSN Showcase Saturday.
8. Santa Ana Mater Dei (7-1)
Comment: The Monarchs won the Corona del Mar Beach Bash over the host Sea Kings and will compete in the Westminster Tournament this week.
9. Etiwanda (9-1)
Comment: The Eagles will break a 13-day layoff with a nonleague game against Santa Clarita Christian Friday night at the Taft Showcase.
10. Chino Hills (3-1)
Comment: The Huskies have been off since the BattleZONE Tournament, but pick up steam this weekend with a nonleague game against Mission Bay at the BSN Showcase, followed by a trip to Vegas for the Tarkanian Classic.
11. Damien (8-1)
Comment: The Spartans won the Sierra Vista Tournament with ease and followed that up with a big road win over Camarillo.
12. Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (8-3)
Comment: The Knights fell to No. 3 St. John Bosco in the championship game of the Father Barry Classic. SOND welcomes No. 6 Corona Centennial to its home gym for a nonleague game Friday.
13. Santa Margarita (8-3)
Comment: The Eagles lost to nationally-recognized Wasatch Academy in the championship game of the Vivint Great Western Shootout. The Eagles will host a two-day showcase-style event this Friday and Saturday with a handful of teams from Northern California.
14. Riverside Notre Dame (4-3)
Comment: The Titans have played one of the more difficult schedules you’ll find, losing to No. 6 Corona Centennial, No. 7 Bishop Montgomery in OT and No. 1 Sierra Canyon on the road. Riverside ND opens Ivy League play at home against No. 15 Riverside Poly tonight.
15. Riverside Poly (8-1)
Comment: The Bears won the Riverside Kiwanis Tournament last week and their only loss came to No. 4 Fairfax in the Rose City Classic at Maranatha.
16. Harvard-Westlake (6-2)
Comment: The Wolverines are still not fully-healthy, but still won the Beverly Hills Tournament with a 62-39 victory over Redondo Union.
17. Rancho Verde (6-3)
Comment: The Mustangs’ three losses were all to top-10 ranked teams in Corona Centennial, Chino Hills and Etiwanda.
18. Long Beach Poly (4-1)
Comment: The Jackrabbits opened the Bosco-Gahr Classic with an 80-41 win over Palisades.
19. Orange Lutheran (8-2)
Comment: The addition of Makur Maker has made the Lancers a formidable opponent to just about any team in the Southland.
20. Camarillo (8-2)
Comment: You have to reward the Scorpions for its tough schedule and large early sample size. Camarillo’s only two losses this season are to No. 1 Sierra Canyon and No. 11 Damien.
