TOP DEFENDERS
AVERY FORD | 6’6 F/C | PAUL VI ’21
Avery Ford has super long arms which along with his instincts make him a versatile and effective presence on the defensive side of the ball.
ETHAN LYNCH | 6’2 G | IRETON ’19
Ethan Lynch embraces the challenge of guarding the opposing team’s best player, and we saw that on display throughout the day.
MILES MALLORY | 6’5 F/C | PALLOTTI ’19
Miles Mallory was one of the top shot blockers we saw at the Charm City Classic. He is a sneaky good leaper with quick reactions.
JUSTIN MOORE | 6’3 G | DEMATHA ’19
Justin Moore is a long lanky guard who is built like a tank. He took it on as a personal challenge to defend RJ Blakney.
CASEY MORSELL | 6’2 G | ST. JOHN’S ’19
Casey Morsell has long arms and has developed into an elite defensive player with his ability to block shots and rebound out of his area.
ABDOU TSIMBILA | 6’7 C | GORETTI ’19
Abdou Tsimbila is one of the best natural rim protectors we’ve seen at the high school level in recent memory. Tsimbila’s length, relentless work rate, and excellent timing make him seem much bigger than his listed height.
JOSH WATTS | 6’4 G | GONZAGA ’19
Josh Watts is a smart defender who has good size and underrated quickness. Watts was primarily responsible defending James Bishop.
JAMAL WEST | 6’5 F | ST. FRANCES ’20
Jamal West is a versatile defender who can block shots, deflect passes, and will fight for every 50/50 ball. We love the fact that he can guard virtually any position on the floor.
TOP SHOOTERS
BRENDAN FOX | 6’5 G | LOYOLA ’19
Brendan Fox is a spot up specialist with good size and a quick release. He knocked down a handful of perimeter jump shots on Saturday.
XAVIER JOYNER JR. 6’2 G | PAUL VI ’19
Xavier Joyner Jr. was the best shooter we saw on Saturday, hitting 5 triples. Joyner is a catch and shoot specialist who is always moving off the ball.
TERRANCE WILLIAMS | 6’7 F | GONZAGA ’20
Terrance Williams showcased deep range on Saturday, and led Gonzaga with 16 points.
TOP UNDERCLASSMEN
CARLOS ALEXANDER | 5’10 G | SFA ’22
Carlos Alexander plays with a fearless demeanor, and his skill set is very impressive. Alexander is tracking among the top guards in his class at the moment.
NOAH BATCHELOR | 6’5 F | GORETTI ’22
Noah Batchelor has the chance to be special, and we saw signs of this once again on Saturday. Batchelor is a strong competitor with improving skills and impressive athleticism.
AUSAR CRAWLEY | 5’7 G | MSJ ’21
Ausar Crawley is a safe bet to be a household name in the DMV within the next few years. Crawley may be small, but he’s a tough kid who can handle, change speeds, score, defend, and create for others.
TREVOR KEELS | 6’5 G | PAUL VI ’21
Trevor Keels is a big guard with a versatile skill set, and a continuously developing body. When Keels is knocking down jumpers with consistency and then getting downhill, he can be a very difficult matchup for most opponents at this level.
DUG MCDANIEL | 5’9 PG | PAUL VI ’22
Dug McDaniel has a superb feel for the game to go along with an outstanding skill set. McDaniel stepped up in key situations on Saturday.
TOP SCORERS
HUNTER DICKINSON | 7’1 C | DEMATHA ’20
Hunter Dickinson showed that he is not just a post technician, but a skilled big who can actually score anywhere on the floor. With his back to the basket, from outside the arc, or facing up at the top of the key.
MITCH FISCHER | 6’7 F/C | LOYOLA ’20
Mitch Fischer is a stretch big who can shoot it well from the perimeter, and has some go-to moves on the low block.
DARIUS MADDOX | 6’4 G | ST. JOHN’S ’20
Darius Maddox is an effortless scorer. Maddox has the ability to put up points in a hurry, and he certainly showed flashes of this on Saturday.
