Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who raised their profile at the tournament.
Connor Arment, 5’8, G, 2021, Barstow
Arment impressed with his ability to make shots and create offense. He’s one of the more underrated players in the KC area regardless of class and despite his size (5’8), he just finds a way. He is crafty with the ball, can create some offense off the dribble but is at his best behind the 3-point arc where he is a knock down shooter.
Quintin Conley, 6’4, G/F, 2022, Pembroke Hill
Conley hasn’t gotten much hype just yet, but he’s among the better incoming freshmen in the Kansas City area and impressed in our first viewing for the Raiders. He is a shot creator and shot maker, capable of creating offense off the dribble and scoring in a variety of ways. He has good size for a wing at 6’4, but he impresses with his all-around skill level for a youngster.
Will Rau, 6’3, G, 2021, Veritas Christian
Rau has good size for a wing player and showed the ability to do a little bit of everything well over the weekend. He likes to drive to the basket and has the ability to make plays. Rau is a good outside shooter who can knock down shots when open.
Peyton Reynolds, 6’2, G/F, 2021, Shawnee Mission East
One of the more impressive two-way players we saw over the weekend, Reynolds is active wing player capable of impacting a game in a variety of ways. He runs the floor exceptionally well, blocks shots, finishes around the basket and rebounds well. He’s a player who combines skill, energy and some bounce.
Liam Weaver, 6’1, G, 2021, Pembroke Hill
Weaver is another player we haven’t heard much about, but he showed throughout the weekend that he is a capable scorer and a top-flight competitor. He can create offense off the dribble, gets to the basket and has a nice mid-range game, capable of sticking tough, contested jumpers. We look for him to have a big offensive season for the Raiders.
