Read about the two high scorers and two complimentary players below.
Ben Brown (2021)
Standing approximately 6-foot-5 Ben Brown projects as a small college forward. If he gets to 6-foot-8, then his potential grows tremendously. Facing a similarly-sized front line Brown generally screened high and hunted double digit points. Brown’s ceiling will be determined by his height. At the high school level is already a serviceable, occasionally threatening starting forward.
Patrick Garrett (2021)
Nice guard. Patrick Garrett is still thin though his skills and court awareness project favorably. Garrett is primarily a complimentary ball handler and spot-up shooter for the Centennial Cougars as a sophomore. His role will grow a little next season. Right now he finds decent minutes alongside Tre Carlton in the backcourt.
Dusty Williams (2020)
Listed 6-foot-8, Sterling Craig might be a smidgen taller. Craig is a solidly built center too. Unlike the majority of very tall seniors, Craig has been able to keep on muscle. With Ravenwood he tends to post double-doubles. Craig’s comfort in the post indicates he will not require prodding to consistently stay on the blocks. Sterling is not explosive vertically. He can block shots with long arms and quick reactions, but he does not project as an elite rim protector after high school. What Craig does have is wonderful footwork. He can shift directions wonderfully, perhaps he grew up a soccer player. The agility of his feet suggest he can incorporate so many more post maneuvers with added instruction.
Tre Carlton (2020)
Tre played the best defense of the low scoring game. He consistently deflected perimeter passes that directly lead to easy, transition baskets. Carlton projects as a low major lead guard at the same level as Kenny Cooper (Lipscomb junior). Tre’s best attribute is natural leadership. He also slides his feet at an elite level.
